Update for 55th reunion – After graduation I worked in Des Moines for a few years and then in Ames and Des Moines at some temporary small office jobs.

In the spring of 1978 I went to Europe for several months. Through some contacts there I was offered an office job in Kansas City MO. I decided to take the job and moved to Kansas City. That is where I made my home.

In 1986 I met, Lawrence Bartel in Juneau AK. He worked for the state of Alaska. He had decided to return to the Midwest where his family lived. We were married in 1987. We made the decision to stay in the Kansas City area partway between our families. He worked as an Programmer Analyst. I worked part time as a librarian. Our daughter was born in 1988. She currently lives and works in Chattanooga TN.

We are retired. We travel when we can. Visit family and friends. We still have several friends in Alaska so we try to go there when we can. We usually fly to an area we want to stay in. We have only driven there one time. It is a long trip! Most of the time we stay in the United States.
