Mike Zenor
Slater, IA
Update for 55th reunion – Mike lives in Slater with his wife Wanda. They have 3 children and 3 grandsons. Justin, their son also lives in Slater, while daughters Denise and Kimberly live in Polk City and Kelley respectively.
Mike enjoys railroading and trains, being a collector of Lionel trains for may years. Recently they toured a number of excursion trains, including The Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway near Colorado Springs. He volunteers at many community events and activities, as well as for railroad related activities, plus other “puttering around for old guy” tasks.
Mike retired from the Ames School District after 35 years of service and Wanda also retired from bookkeeping at Cooper and Sons Excavating in Ames. Wanda also was a school bus driver for Ballard Community School District.
Mike said one of his toughest duties was to convert from being a life long Ballard Bomber to now rooting for the North Polk Comets, as his 3 grandsons are all students and athletes in that school district.
