Updates for 55th Reunion – There have been only a few changes in my life since our last reunion, which is good. Kreg and I have been married almost 53 years. We are blessed with having our family live nearby! We still live in the house I grew up in.Our sons Derek and wife Tina and Brett, both live in Slater. We have two grandsons. Lane (20) works for the city of Ames and last summer purchased a home in Ames. Drew (18) just graduated highschool. He will be attending DMACC and then transferring to Iowa State. He will be studying Computer Science.
Kreg and I are both retired and loving it! Kreg worked at Story County road department for 21 years. I worked as a nurse at McFarland Clinic for 44 years. We find it amazing how busy we stay. Of course, it takes us a little longer to finish projects ?.
We do not do much traveling. We enjoy camping and boating in the summer. We both enjoy sports, which entertains us throughout the year. I love gardening and have been a master gardener for 27 years. I enjoy working in the yard and experimenting with new plants. I have been in a Bible study (BSF) for 9 years. This has been a true blessing! I volunteer at church, working in the kitchen and helping with funeral meals. This is also very rewarding.
Kreg and I both appreciate reasonable good health. With the exception of aches, decreased flexibility, bad knees, etc. ? We are thankful for each day God gives us. We look forward to visiting with all of you soon!
From 50+1 reunion – Kreg and I have been married for almost 49 years. We have lived in the same home in Slater the entire time. We have 2 sons who also live in Slater. Derek is married to Tina and they have 2 sons, Lane (16) and Drew (14). Brett is not married. We have been blessed to have our sons and grandsons live close by. They have brought us much joy. Tina included!
I have been retired for almost 5 years. I worked over 44 years as a nurse at McFarland Clinic. Kreg has been retired for 8 years. We have enjoyed our retirement together and our free time. We spend our time gardening, camping, pontooning and attending our grandsons’ sporting events. We both enjoy watching sports. We also spend a lot of time visiting family members. My mother is 98 years old and lives on her own. She is a true blessing. I also attend a weekly Bible study which is wonderful.
My most memorable event in high school was playing basketball. Making it to State and being able to stay in Des Moines for the tournament was so much fun. Memorable teachers were Mrs. Fredregill, Don Brendeland, Mr. Kindhart and Mrs. Long.
