Brenda (Severson) & Steve Thompson
Sedro-Woolley, WA
Update for 55th reunion – We moved to Washington state in 1979 and live in a small rural area of northwest Washington – between Seattle and the Canadian border . We ran a retail and wholesale nursery serving western Washington for over 40 years and retired in 2021.
Our daughter, her husband and two boys ( 6 and 9 ) live in a suburb of Seattle so we see them often. Our son, his wife and two girls (6 and 9) live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We spend as much time as possible with our grandchildren.
Retirement has enabled us to do more traveling – including a trip to Iceland and Norway to visit our ancestral family farm – relatives included! Steve has become an avid fly fisher and enjoys fishing in Washington, Alaska and Canada. In addition we enjoy gardening, traveling and spending time at our local mountains and beaches.
From 50+1 reunion – Hello All – Here is what happened with us since graduation in 1970! We both went off to college and graduated in 1974, then began working in Ames.
After several years, we were ready for a change and moved to Washington state. We live in Sedro-Woolley – a small town in a rural area of the northwest corner of the state. We started a nursery/greenhouse business in 1982- growing and shipping plants between Seattle and the Canadian border. It has kept us busy the past 39 years and we are retiring this fall.
We have a son and a daughter, both married and 4 grandchildren we thoroughly enjoy. Although we don’t miss the snowy, cold Iowa winters and hot summers we do enjoy a visit back every year to see family and friends in Huxley, Kelley and Slater.
