Barbara (Schaudt) Kahler

Kreg and I have been married for almost 49 years. We have lived in the same home in Slater the entire time. We have 2 sons who also live in Slater. Derek is married to Tina and they have 2 sons, Lane (16) and Drew (14). Brett is not married. We have been blessed to have our sons and grandsons live close by. They have brought us much joy. Tina included!
I have been retired for almost 5 years. I worked over 44 years as a nurse at McFarland Clinic. Kreg has been retired for 8 years. We have enjoyed our retirement together and our free time. We spend our time gardening, camping, pontooning and attending our grandsons’ sporting events. We both enjoy watching sports. We also spend a lot of time visiting family members. My mother is 98 years old and lives on her own. She is a true blessing. I also attend a weekly Bible study which is wonderful.
My most memorable event in high school was playing basketball. Making it to State and being able to stay in Des Moines for the tournament was so much fun. Memorable teachers were Mrs. Fredregill, Don Brendeland, Mr. Kindhart and Mrs. Long.
