Explanation of Power of Attorney
Power of attorney can be revoked at any time by the person who granted the power of attorney to another person without any court action and without regard to health or mental status.

Conservatorship and Guardianship Resources
Conservatorship and Guardianship is done through the court and legal system. It can be done both voluntarily and involuntarily. Iowa law states the least restrictive methods will be used in granting of any conservatorship or guardianship. Guardianship and conservatorship can be revoked by court order, but not as easily as revoking power of attorney. We may be heading towards an involuntary guardianship unless attitudes change and cooperation breaks out.
